Union Creek Falls
Spend the day hiking or sightseeing at the Union Creek Falls, and for extra adrenaline, jump off the 60-foot drop waterfall that surges over a sheer precipice into a gorge. Just an hour from our hotel, the path to the Falls holds several sights, including massive and an additional five waterfalls within an 8-mile radius.

Boulder Cave
Boulder Cave is home to the only known population of Pacific Western Big-Eared Bats in this part of Washington. Formed approximately 25,000 years ago when the outer edge of the area weakened and collapsed into the hollow below, leaving an archway 350 feet long and 30 feet wide, Boulder Creek remains an unusual site to see. A quick ride from Yakima, it's ideal for a family day trip. Keep in mind: Boulder Cave is normally open from Memorial Day through Labor Day and is closed from October 1st through May 1st to protect the Big-Eared Bat hibernation. Stay at our hotel near Boulder Cave to be close to these incredible creatures.

Yakima Greenway
The Greenway, stretching from Selah Gap to Union Gap and west along the Naches River, is the perfect place for bicyclists, walkers, runners, and in-line skaters to get out and enjoy the day. Entrance points are at Sarg Hubbard Park (111 S 18th St), Sherman Park (E Nob Hill Blvd), Rotary Lake ("R" St), Harland Landing (west side of I-82 between Selah and Yakima) and the east end of Valley Mall Boulevard.

Yakima River Canyon
The Yakima River Canyon is one of the most scenic areas in the US. Yakima Canyon Scenic Byway (SR 821) is a stunning and efficient alternative to I-82 between Yakima and Ellensburg and is one of the most scenic roads in the country. Follow the meandering river as it slices between basalt cliffs that were once part of the largest lava fields in the world. A favorite "lazy float" of many rafters, white water rafting between Cle Elum, Ellensburg, and Yakima is a great way for the whole family to enjoy this class 1 and class 2 river and the steep basalt cliffs of the canyon. For fly fishing, the Yakima River is a "blue-ribbon" trout stream - one of the best in the state.
