Explore the Great Outdoors
Featuring 15,000 feet of breathtaking freshwater shoreline, Lake Sylvia State Park is a retreat from the ordinary. Perfect for a retreat of fishing, hiking, and day trips, this 233 acre camping park began its life as a logging camp before its donation to the State Parks Commission in 1936. Nature loving guests will be intrigued to find preserved history, such as preserved logging gear, massive old growth stumps, and a record breaking giant wooden ball, carved from a single log. Adding to the rich history of the area, Lake Sylvia's beauty makes for the ideal escape to nature, just minutes away from our Montesano hotel.
The park includes a half-mile of ADA-accessible hiking trails, and five miles of regular hiking trails. Popular activities at the park include non-motorized boating, freshwater fishing, swimming, bird watching, and mountain biking. Additionally, Lake Sylvia State Park has an ADA fishing dock and playground equipment; a recreational license is required for fishing and shellfish harvesting at Washington state parks. Equipped with ADA-compliant facilities including the campgrounds, restrooms and hiking trails, Lake Sylvia also provides a kitchen shelter with electricity, one sheltered picnic table, and 75 unsheltered picnic tables.
