He fell in love with the “Red Dirt” scene in Oklahoma, and spent the next 3 years playing old Honky Tonks, and Smoke Filled Bars from Austin to Oklahoma City. CJ is known for his raw lyrics, passionate performances, and new age blues approach to songwriting and storytelling. He has opened up for nationally touring artists such as ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lee Ann Womack, Stoney Larue, Reckless Kelly, Charlie Robison, Uncle Lucius, John Conlee, David Nail, Chris Jensen, and many more.
