With a blend of original soul Americana music, Ashley Heath has been arising as one of Asheville, NC finest and uniquely gifted musicians with as described "velvety" vocals and bluesy guitar style. Raised in the foothills of Appalachia, she has developed a strong passion for country, blues, and folk music and has recently released an album of original material titled "A Different Stream".
In March of 2015, Heath decided to go full time into singing and playing music, quit her part time job as a barista in downtown Asheville, and recorded her first album “A Different Stream”. The album was recorded at the amazing Echo Mountain Recording Studios in Asheville, NC with producer Ryan Burns and engineer Clay Miller. “A Different Stream” is a collection of Heath’s first attempt at songwriting and is a seven song album with six original songs and one cover titled “Ready for The Times to Get Better”. Her debut album “A Different Stream” was released on Friday May 27th, 2016 at The Asheville Music Hall with newly formed band “Ashley Heath and Her Heathens”. Heath’s original music is edgy, dark, and soulful Americana music with songwriting that people from all walks of life can relate to.
Since releasing her first album “A Different Stream”, she has been named “Artist of the Year – Regional 2016” from The Greenville Journal, her album “A Different Stream” has placed #48 on WNCW 88.7 top 100 releases of 2016, and she has successfully raised $11,886 through Kickstarter to fund tour support, vinyl records, and publicity.
