Hotel RL Baltimore Inner Harbor

Khadijah carries a room like few others in the DC Songwriters circuit. With a persona so powerful, she makes even the unabashed pay attention.” -JA Thueson, founder of Songwriters & Poets

Khadijah  Moon is a multi-talented  singer & songwriter you need to know. Since the start of her career, Khadijah Moon has appeared on numerous stages as a performer, including the famous Apollo Theatre in New York where she appeared on the television show Showtime at the Apollo after wins during the weekly Amateur Night at the Apollo off-screen. She has been featured in local and national festivals and events and is often booked for private industry shows. Her music is a refreshing blend of meaningful lyrics and original arrangements brought to life by astonishingly versatile vocals that are melodic and subtly seductive.
In 2016, she compiled her music into a one-woman show called Song of a Space Cadet and used music, poetry and monologues to share her memoir of how she rebounded from personal and public tragedy to create powerful art. In 2016, she released the CD of music Song of a Space Cadet which included songs from the show, including her early singles "Unbound", "hunger" and produced by her partner and music collaborator Ben "Beta" Dawson, Jr.

Khadijah was awarded a 2015 Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council in Non-Classical Solo Performance and was recognized in 2012 as an Artist of Distinction by the organization Womanifesting, Inc. and a Top Forty UNDER 40 in the Arts & Humanities from the Prince George's County Social Innovation Fund.

She performs regularly as a solo artist and part of the arts collective Liberated Muse Arts Group which she founded in 2008. She hosts 5th Tuesday Open Mic at the renowned Busboys & Poets, located on 14th & V in Washington DC.
