Visit A Lively Neighborhood

While Staying At Our Park Slope Hotel

When you stay at our Park Slope hotel, you have access to one of Brooklyn's most exciting neighborhoods. The area is excellent for families and also has plenty of nightlife and tasty dining. The neighborhood is characterized by its historic brownstones, which give it a scholarly atmosphere. Here's our guide to the best things to do in the neighborhood.

Prospect Park

Park Slope borders the west side of Prospect Park. This massive park is one of New York City's best-kept secrets, and most residents prefer it to the more crowded Central Park. Prospect Park features a massive Great Lawn, perfect for picnics and lying in the sun. There's also the Prospect Park Zoo and even the chance to ride horses.

Coffee

The preferred drink of all Brooklynites, coffee is key to Park Slope. Local shops include Gorilla Coffee on Bergen Street, just a couple blocks from The Barclays Center. Cafe Regular has two locations in the neighborhood, both with excellent brews and a homely atmosphere. Kos Kaffee on 5th Avenue serves up coffee and a whole menu of delicious dishes. There's so many coffee options, you'll forget that Starbucks even exists.

Dining

There's eclectic dining all over Park Slope. Taste seasonal ingredients crafted by experts at Stone Park Cafe. Pan-Asian cuisine is available at Talde. For a classic New York bagel, head to Bagel Hole. Meltkraft turns grilled cheese into an art form, with a whole menu dedicated to melted cheese.

Shopping

Park Slope is home to tons of vintage and independent stores. Powerhouse on 8th and Community Bookstore are great spots to find a new book. The Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co is a place where kids can live their superhero dreams and purchase costumes and other superhero-themed toys. Housing Works and Beacon's Closet are both essential stops to find vintage clothing at great prices.

Nightlife

For adults, there's plenty of bars with interesting themes and concoctions. The Gate's outdoor patio is great during the summer. High Dive is a classic dive bar with free popcorn and even a stack of board games. Mission Dolores features pinball and drinks from across the world. Skylark is another bar with mismatched furniture and a warm atmosphere.

Enjoy the best of the neighborhood when you stay at our hotel in Park Slope, Red Lion Inn & Suites Brooklyn.
