Bari Lutalo is a Baltimore based artist who's talents encompass rapping, guitar playing, and music production. He started writing rap lyrics around the age of 11 after listening to artists such as Eminem and Nas and began recording his material after graduating from high school. Lyrically his music has elements of social awareness, self discovery, and raw emotion with instrumentals that include live guitar and piano playing influenced by Jazz, R&B, and traditional boom bap rap. Inspired by the in depth lyricism of artists such as Jay Z, Eminem, Mos Def, Nas, Tupac, Kendrick Lamar, Lupe Fiasco, and Outkast, Bari's goals are to push the boundaries of creativity in hip hop and redefine the norms of the genre with his use of live instrumentation and diverse lyrical themes. Bari has also played guitar and keyboards for several New York City and Baltimore based artists and bands. His inspirations for playing guitar and piano come mainly from 60s and 70s rock bands such as Cream, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and The Doors, as well as jazz artists such as Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Wes Montgomery. He’s studied music theory on both the college and high school level.
