Dothan Area Botanical Gardens
Explore One of the Top Dothan Attractions
An icon of the city of Dothan, Alabama, the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens are renowned for their 15 specialty gardens. Home to a stunning variety of features, the gardens include walking paths, boardwalks, preserved wilderness areas, water features, statues and dozens of specialty gardens. Take a stroll through the Herb Garden, Butterfly Garden, Camellia Garden, Wedding Garden, and many more, and find yourself at peace while enjoying the beauty of Dothan's horticultural heritage.
No matter what time of year you visit, it's going to be a spectacular trip, but certain months are especially beautiful. In late March, the Azalea Garden features numerous varieties that come into full bloom, offering a striking array of colors. Dothan is a city famed for its azaleas, but this display offers some of the finest in the area. The Rose Garden, planted in 1997, features 200 different rose plantings that peak in May each year. For lovers of Southern history and heritage, the Southern Heirloom Garden - populated with preserved seeds and plants from across the Southeast's family gardens, roadsides and historic homes - will intrigue, while the Demonstration Garden showcases the skills of the botanical garden's Wiregrass master gardeners.
